everytime i listen to music whether in iTunes, Windows Media Player, youtube or even when i watch videos on vlc, media player, itunes, etc....the music skips. it happened like a month ago everything was fine but then nero got stuck twice during burning, ended it with task manager etc etc....ergo music is skipping (nero NOT being the problem here i deleted it). i read about it in google though im not really sure what to do im not a computer expert and they say things about modifying the DWORD value of the drive on some reg. key.
it has gotten better though and it skips less but its still really anoying especially when opening a certain program.
any help would really be appriecated im going crazy.

    Good move deleteing Nero!

I suspect Nero was a result of your real problem. I will hazzard a wild guess.

Empty your trash can then check the properties for your hard drive. Is the drive nearly full? A full C: drive will case weird problems. Your trash can space is counted as empty but is not usable space. That is why you empty it first.

If it is nearly full good .5 TB hard disks can be had for almost 50 USD on the internet. They come with software that will clone your old disk. Putting in a new HD is not very hard to do. If you run into trouble most mom and pop computer store will install HDs for very little money since it is so easy. I got over my head trying to install a motherboard. Plus I had trouble reading the tiny writting. I was charged $45 to install the mother board. That is a huge job compaired with a hard disk install.

The trick is to supply all the parts yourself. M&P store will charge you much more money for the disk than the internet. Even Best Buy will charge you at least double. If you do not know what to buy, ask on the build your own PC forum. They are great!

as i said in my first post i read about it on google and all they said to do were some workarounds and maybe even changing something in the reg key. installing something is a little over my head. maybe i should just get a computer tech guy to come check it out.
    thanks for the help

Sorry I missed that. That is more of a hardware problem. I suggest you place a query "how do I modifying the DWORD value on my burner" in the CD-R forum. I bet you will get a good answer in a day.
