Am i really thick, as i've just bought an executer lite, installed it correctly (yes i can use a solering iron - even on VIA's!) and i thought that i would bang in a back - up of a game and away i go! now i find all these thing about bios updates etc why are bios impossible to find, why don't the suppiers tell you this, where do i go from here? i'm really in the sh?@>t here, i have 23 X Box games and a 6 year old son (say no more) i don't intend any illigal back-up, just want to insure my games! Please help!
This is the step I over looked when doing all my research. My executer lite came with the Cromwell Linux BIOS, which won't let you do what you want. So you have to find a new bios and flash your executer lite chip with it. There are lots of tutorials on that, I used the OzXChip method. Do some searching on these forms, they have answered all my questions. You'll have some head aches, but just be patient. Good luck.
Use Slayer's AutoInstaller, then use evox to flash the X2 4977 bios (the best to date). Xbins (on an EFNET server on IRC) is a great place to look for all xbox software.
Why won't you get a bigger HDD in ur xbox and just install all of ur game.. So ur son won't mess up even the backups.
