Have a Sony 7.1 and I use my former tv outside aerial to get local FM stations via the coax input at back of receiver and I have clear reception with many stations coming in. With the little black square antenna they give you with two wire inputs I get no AM stations... the closest AM station is about 150 miles away. Is there a way to make a home made aerial for AM that is better than the one supplied with most stereo receivers or a relatively cheap recommended commercial AM antenna...thanks garry

Check with your local Radio Shack they sell AM antenna that you mount out side of your house and that will bring in stations that you cannot get with the antenna t5hat comes with receivers
