Hey guys i need your help, im a complete newbie when it comes to processors and im making my first system. In choosing processors i see that both the amd athalon 3200 and 3000 are clocked at 2.0 ghz and have very similar stats though the 3000 is 40 dollars cheaper than the 3200.

Now i plan on gaming with this processor, and plan on overclocking whichever processor i have to newhere between 2.4-2.6, i already have the proper motherboard, memory, cooling etc. I just want to know if thers any significant difference between these two processors?

    thanks alot in advane

The Athlon64 Venice core has 512KB cache, and the 3200+ runs @ 2.0GHz.
The 3000+ is identical but runs @ 1800MHz.
    The Opteron 144 also runs @ 1800MHz but has a 1MB cache :^)
It is very inexpensive and you should make it your first choice.
The Opteron 146 runs 2.0GHz w/ 1MB cache and is also affordable, only $20 bucks more than 3200+ Venice.
If you cannot afford dual-core AMD CPU, the Opteron 144 (at less than half the dual-core price) would be a great purchase!
The Opterons are very affordable and I'm surprised anyone is buying Venice these days...
    Regards
