hello, i recently bought a computer, wich has an amd athlon 64 x2 dual core processor 3800+ wich is supposed to run at 2.0 ghz, so i bought this game called battlefield 2142, and it kept on freezing, so i checked the troubleshoot option, and it said that my computer did not met the minimum requirements, wich is 1.7 ghz, it said it was running at 1.0 ghz, then i checked it again and it said it was running at 1.8 ghz, then at 1.0 ghz, what is wrong with my processor? why is the speed changing constantly??
I have a amd 4200 x2 processor and on battlefeild 2 it says the same thing that my processor is running at 1.0 not 2.2. All of my hardware is supported by the game but it still crashes all of the time.
Not completely sure but I heard that some games that are not made for multi-core procs will have issues and that you have to go into your bios or something to shut one of them off. I think that it isn't your dual core but the game and some how you have to do something in your bios or download drivers for the game to play properly.
novicebb said it. Its the game lack of compatabiluty with 2 cores. However try downloading latest drivers. As thats helped me out recently. Make sure your GPU is up to date with drivers and can run the game. If your a gamer you shouldnt have gone down the dual core route. In games raw Ghz beats any dual/quad core around. Lecsiy
where do i download this updates? sorry im what you guys call a noob haha and the guy at best buy told me that this was a good computer to play videogames
