Read on an american forum this morning that the americans are finding N3 a little tougher to crack than first thougtht. Lots of yanks buying a products called a Ihub which connects from your rs232 port to an ethernet port. This allows connection to a server and clear the channels. This was a stop gap measure but its now looking more permanant due to the fact N3 is a tough cookie.

There's quite a few out there now that use this method for sat. Just connects from ethernet port on box to router. Can't see it ever being described as permenant as it is quite risky and you're relying on permenant internet connection and servers being available etc.

yes many people on sat use our version called cs.. the yanks call it iks. Wether its the same who knows. But the box there using is a little different. We use linux box's with integrated ethernet port. The Ihub that I described would in theory allow a receiver like a starview or krypto. to do the same thing. It connects via the rs232 port. They recon it could be permanant simply because Nagra 3 it proving more difficult to crack than they thought. The servers there using though are colapsing due to strain.

Seems to be a common problem for key sharing servers alright. Whether it be by them being attacked or going down due to demand or being shut down! Because of this it's not what I would call 100% reliable.
This is a no-no topic here also.

Would be very easy for the cs servers to become totally unusable with simple DDOS attacks.

C/s is never going to be a good solution.

Me thinks the yanks were a little too confident that the could crack n3.
