    Hi Twinkel,
We start kindergarten aged 5 and graduate Highschool after Grade 12, aged 17 or 18 (hopefully!)
Exams are in December before xmas, and in May.
Universities on the 3-semester system have exams in April, August, and December.
We adore Scottish women, put up with Scottish men, like all things British just in general, and enjoy listening to a Scottish tongue.
The Australian tongue (and especially N.Z.) are like sandpaper to the ears - witness Nicole Kidman and all the $$$ she must've spent on her dialogue-coach, LoL :^)
My question to the Aussies is:
If the thing you sleep on is called a 'beed', what do you call the round bauble on your necklace?
LoL (no offense) Mick69's gonna flame me ;^)

All Australians possess the mental dexterity to write fluently in one language (basically English with a few Americanisms thrown in) and yet speak an entirely different language.

    THE ABORIGINAL PEOPLE

The term ‘Aboriginal’ is loosely applied to the people who were living in Australia at the time of European settlement 200 years ago. There were hundreds of different tribes scattered across the continent, varying in their language and customs.

the first settlers would have a mixed accent of irish (most of the convicts sent to australia where irish), scottish and british.

so over time, the accent has merged and fused three near impossible to understand accents, in one super impossible to understand accent.

Scottish accents are probably the best, I love Gerard Butler's accent. If only Auslander had one . . .
