Hello, I have an AMW M270 Portable DVD player that has been the source of many headaches for me. When any disk (I tried several) is loaded, the movie will play with sound but the screen wont illuminate. I can see the movie if I use a stong light to look at the pixles, but there is no illumination at all. I've had this problem before and usually fully charging the battery and having it plugged into the wall fixed the problem. Has anyone ever heard of this and if so, is there an easy fix? I don't have the reciept so returning it is out.
Well, I took the M270 apart and started messing with things. It seems that there is a ribbon type cable that connects the dvd reader assembly to the video screen. If you follow this cable from the dvd reader you will come to a small connection held together by a flimsy sticker. i took off the sticker and pushed the connection together more. Poof! problem solved.
