Had a pleasant surprise that I bought a capture card with editor, etc. and it actually worked out of the box. The main thing I use it for is bringing in VCR tapes that cannot be copied VCR to VCR or VCR to DVD (you can guess the reason) . There's no TV/FM tuner involved so the card is simplicity in itself. The cost is about $29.95 US and the card is made by "AVerMedia" and sold as "DVD EZMaker PCI". You can watch on the screen the Sync Pulse Dithering/correction being made in the Capture mode, and the copies are as good as you can get from a VCR->DVD capture operation. If you don't need the TV/FM Tuner in a capture card, this is a welcome substitute and for what it's worth, I highly recommend it.
