I am using Studio 8 to capture video. I am ready to put the video on a DVD and when I hit the "make disc tab" I get the message "the selected clip has a non-stardard Video FRAME RANGE -THUS CANNOT BE ENCODED TO mpeg. What do I need to do? I have Nero also so any guide which covers the issue would be appreciated. The file is presently in a STU format
I have never heard of "STU" format, and I own Studio 8 and 9 ,I"m pretty sure the File is in an AVI format of some sort...well anyways I believe the error you are getting is Because you Captured your File useing a Non-standard Frame rate, But not Knowing what Frame rate to did capture to I can"t tell you if it will be possible to encode it to Mpeg...You can to capture your File useing the Same Frame rate as the Mpeg file that you are going to create..So for NTSC you can to capture the Video at 29.976fps and for Pal it has to be 25fps so if your Captured file doesn"t have this Frame rate you Just Might have to start over again and Capture it again useing the Correct Frame rate, Or you can Try to render your Project as an AVI file and then try to Convert the Frame rate to the Correct one but that can have Bad Side effects like Jumpy Playback and Sync Problems......
.STU files are created by Studio8 so it knows where scene changes occur in the video. .STU files are not the actual video files, so there must be a video file with the same name but different file extension (.avi, .mpg, etc.) If you are still having problems, try the Pinnacle support forum at: http://webboard.pinnaclesys.com/read_forums.asp?WebboardID=1&SectionID=143&lng=1
