Another Ban Hammer?

I got hit today. Went into the xbox live forums and tons of people getting suspended. Post here if you are.

 

GT or Console?

 

It appears to all be gamertags. People sending in consoles for repair and coming back tampered is the way I got hit

 

It is a hammer, but they are hitting the GT's. Seems to be anyone who has a jtag and did the COD hacks

 

So your saying the LT FW worked? I haven't got online for almost two months.

 

Once they don't ban GTs for flashing the drive, it isn't that bad. I thought JTAG consoles were banned instantly if connected to Live anyway. I'm using LT and I'm not banned so it must only be JTAG consoles atm or maybe M$ are banning everything but LT is working. Let's hope for the latter.

 

Yeah I just checked and I'm not banned.

 

Going through the xbox forum, there's a ton of people getting hit with "system tampering", "sale or receipt of services", and "user account tampering". The biggest being "system tampering".

 

Does anyone know when this started happening?

 

Easiest way would be to look at the post dates in the threads.

 

No jtags. Meaning I had a jtag console I went between with a live account on another box which wasn't jtagged. Yes most are getting banned for System tampering. aka either jtag or modding of some kind.

Wow, just read some of those posts on the Xbox live forum and some are pretty funny. One said he wanted proof,lol. Like M$ is gonna go out of there way and do that.

 

This is a quote from one of the posters on the xbox forums who is wondering why his son's account got banned:

"Well my son has been banned from xbox live with no email explaining why he was banned until the year 9999. His gamertag is xJTAGx JoeyxD He said he was given that account over 3 months ago from a friend also was given the email so he would have known if he recieved an email from microsoft explaining why he was banned, but as of yet he has not receieved an email and it has been a whole day. The main reason this has annoyed me a lot is that i bought him one year xbox live only 3 days ago and now he gets banned. If any moderators or administrators would kindly get back to me it would be very helpful. P.S The name was not created by my son as he said the name involves something to do with cheating the game but he heard that having a name like this will not get you perm banned it will simply get you to change your xbox live gamertag."

Having "xJTAGx" in your gamertag isn't very subtle when trying to avoid the ban hammer lol.

i think this is a combination of a new moderator that is going stupid, and some smart @@@ little kid that is reporting people, i think the system tampering has something to do with rapid fire button mods, and people are reporting players that they know are using that. just theory i have no idea to actual facts.

 

That would be BS if that's the case. They sell rapid fire controllers in stores. But I do see people filing complaints during game play when its clear someone gets a tactical nuke 30 seconds into match.

 

No, it's not a rogue mod or rapid fire controllers. It's what people have been doing since before the first ban wave that's getting them in to trouble; modding their consoles and modding their gamerscores/profiles.

 

That's what I figured.

 

I watch that forum ever so often, less now since The Pro stopped giving awesome replies. I seen a constant wave of those system tampering, sales of service, gamerscore cheating all summer long. I would say for sure that its a huge increase from a year ago. I sure wouldn't call it a hammer as it seems to be the norm now.
