Hi, just wondering if someone could please check out my HJT log...? Been havin a few probs and Norton detected something, said it deleted it but I'm still havin minor probs with a few programs. I ran Spybot, Ewido, AdAware and Micrisoft Antispyware beta, which removed a lot of junk, but thought I'd get someone to check this HJT log, just in case. P.S Also have the Ewido log if you need that too.
Ok, your log looks clean but you don't have a firewall on your pc. Install a firewall -> These are good (free) firewalls: ZoneAlarm --> http://www.zonelabs.com Kerio--> http://www.sunbelt-software.com/Kerio.cfm Outpost-> http://www.agnitum.com You can fix this entry with HijackThis: (Do a system scan only, check entries, close all other windows, press Fix checked) F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell= And if you still have that Ewido's log, you could post it to here so we can see if it was able to clean those findings.
I'm using XP Firewall, doesn't that count? Here's the Ewido log: ewido anti-malware - Scan report --------------------------------------------------------- + Created on: 5:56:45 PM, 4/17/2006 + Report-Checksum: F114BC68 + Scan result: C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\Cookies\dave@ad.yieldmanager[1].txt -> TrackingCookie.Yieldmanager : Cleaned with backup C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\Cookies\dave@ad1.clickhype[1].txt -> TrackingCookie.Clickhype : Cleaned with backup C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\Cookies\dave@ads.pointroll[2].txt -> TrackingCookie.Pointroll : Cleaned with backup C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\Cookies\dave@as-us.falkag[2].txt -> TrackingCookie.Falkag : Cleaned with backup C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\Cookies\dave@burstnet[2].txt -> TrackingCookie.Burstnet : Cleaned with backup C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\Cookies\dave@casalemedia[2].txt -> TrackingCookie.Casalemedia : Cleaned with backup C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\Cookies\dave@com[1].txt -> TrackingCookie.Com : Cleaned with backup C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\Cookies\dave@fastclick[2].txt -> TrackingCookie.Fastclick : Cleaned with backup C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\Cookies\dave@image.masterstats[1].txt -> TrackingCookie.Masterstats : Cleaned with backup C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\Cookies\dave@media.fastclick[1].txt -> TrackingCookie.Fastclick : Cleaned with backup C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\Cookies\dave@serving-sys[2].txt -> TrackingCookie.Serving-sys : Cleaned with backup C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\Cookies\dave@tribalfusion[1].txt -> TrackingCookie.Tribalfusion : Cleaned with backup C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\Cookies\dave@webstat[1].txt -> TrackingCookie.Web-stat : Cleaned with backup C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\Cookies\dave@zedo[1].txt -> TrackingCookie.Zedo : Cleaned with backup ::Report End Thanks for your help.
Windows XP firewall is not really recommended so you should install a better firewall. (it has ie. no inbound protection at all) These are good (free) firewalls: ZoneAlarm --> http://www.zonelabs.com Kerio--> http://www.sunbelt-software.com/Kerio.cfm Outpost-> http://www.agnitum.com And ewido findings were just cookies.
