I have had a NEC-3550A burner for about a year now. It is setup as an external hard drive that is plug into my Dell 1100 laptop by USB 2.0. It use to burn very well. Well recently it gets to 1.7% and crashes. You run it again and it will finish but the disk will not work. I use Verbeitum and TKD to burn. Well I figured the problem was needing a new driver. I went to the NEC webpage and saw that 1.6 is the newest and I had 1.5. So I downloaded there flasher. It found my driver and flashed it and asked to restart my computer so I let it. Well when it came back on it says it is now a USB 2.0 Mass Storage Device. I uninstall it and then plug it back in and same problem. How do I go about reflashing it to a working driver since it is no longer a NEC burner according to my computer. Is there any way to flash the 1 Y6 from cdfreak over this to turn it back to a burner. If so do I use BinFlash?

    Thanks.

Solution: Take the disk out when restarting it.
