By what I can see your firmware needs updating, it's now 2.FA, go here for download http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1906 Your burner is not recognizing your discs, hopefully firmware update will solve that.

Also, those are terrible quality discs. Probably CompUsa. Try some Verbatims or better quality media.
But so far I have had no issues with the COMPUSA discs. I must also add that this is a new computer and I merely attached the Maddog writer using the USB 2.0 cable ....in other words I have not used the accompanying installation CD ROM to install the Writer. The problem is I lost the installation Disc and then bought a new Laptop. Guess an obvious error .... however when I click on the drivers for this external drive, I see MAddog listed and says this device is working properly. Pls HELPP!!

Another update .... My wife has an Apple Mac and I was able to burn a DVD (Disc Manufacturer: AML) using the burner successfully. That means there is something wrong with the NERO S/W? OR am I all screwed up in the logical thinking? Pls Pls Pls help!!!!!!!!!!
