Another playstation clone?

It looks alot like a fat ps2 with pretty much the smae controllers. Clone is probably the wrong word i would say its a PS2 look alike.

 

that wasn;t at e3 this year or any other show for the matter. We knew about PS3 years before the release and this evo thinks were going to pay $700 for a console weve never heard of? what are its specs anyway?

looks like ps2,dual shock rip off,same idea as ps3, same price point.

I understand it's a pc in a small form factor but isn't that what ps3 is? I consider xbox to be a playstation clone.

 

Exactly. But im still thinking of buying this thing it sounds neat.

 

I wouldn't though face.It doesn't have the hardware to push next gen pc titles.It's good for now but in 2 years it will be a brink.Of coarse they claim everything is upgradable which is an advantage over a console.

 

Well if its proven that its upgradable then i might actualy buy it. Even thoguh i could just play them on the computer. Hey what is the point of it then if you can play it on you computer?

 

I gues is somebody dosent have a computer they could buy one (which with the money could by a computer or better graphics cad if neded)

 

Because it's small and can play in the living room.It also has things like tivo that pc's don't have.

Hmm not quite, mine does. I have an ATI all-in-wonder x1800xt, I have a similar to tivo function. It has an on-demand feature and a remote just like a regular dvr. I see no reason to get this if you have a good PC, and if u want one in a living room make a media center PC. this thing is gonna go down like $20 prostitute.

we're aggree but but a pvr is not tivo.My hauppage wintv has what they call a hardware pvr and although they work the same tivo gives much better results.The technology has come a long way though and personal pvr's are getting better.

Like I've said it's a pc in a small form factor.It is in fact a media center pc.

The links I posted have "Pre Order the EVO: Phase One Next Generation Media Center Hub" and they talk about it as a game and media center pc hybrid.

 

So is any one going to buy this or what?

 

Im sure $700 will biuld a much more powerfull computer than it and if you want to play on the tv pay $10 for an svideo cable

 

700 isn't that bad though when you look at the specs.It would be hard to get a media center pc as cheap.

I realize it's not that powerful compaired to a gaming rig with sli and all the bells and whistles but those cost upwards of $4000

 

Yeah then ill proabbly just buy the ps3 then.

 

I recommend that face because you'll get more power and joy out of a ps3.Plus like I said you'll have to use a mouse and keyboard as where the ps3 has a controller.

This aint bad for pc game fans but it's not going to touch a ps3.

 

Oh hell i know about the ps3 when i first heard about it i was planning on getting it no matter what. I was just thinking of getting evo and a p3 but now im probably only going to get a ps3 (so far).

 

This is a waste of plastic.......

For 700 you can get a console, pc upgrades and a tivo. This is probably the worst idea in the history of gaming.

 

did you see how much it was tho? the specs are crap compared to the ps3, and it cost much more. all this is is on the market computer parts thrown together.
