I would appreciate any help with this one... I bought the latest version of anyDVD (5.4.1.1) and the latest NERO package. For some reason anyDVD doesn't seem to be working in the background when I try to copy my DVDs, so when I try to rip a movie Nero gives me a message that there is copy protection and aborts before starting. When I click on the anyDVD icon, it does not appear in the system tray, and I can't open it to explore settings or other menu items. I did have anyDVD for awhile without using it, and had to reinstall Windows once before using it. But still had the product key in an email, so I uninstalled and reinstalled the anyDVD program. I have no idea what the problem could be. Not an experienced burner - Can anyone help? Thanks! My computer: Athelon AMD Processor 64 +3400 1 gig RAM, 2.41 GHz, 2 x 250 gig SATA hds NEC DVD_RW ND 3520a 16xDVD burner Windows XP Pro SP2 My media: Taiyo Yuden 8x DVD+R
try to uninstall AnyDVD again and install it. If you open DVD it should show in the systens tray if not then i would sugest getting ahold of AnyDVD or there website and ask for suport.
Sceneit , Mine is also not showing in the taskbar but I made it not show. If I want to activate AnyDVD I click on the AnyDVD Fox on the desktop and then it starts the driver and then it loads on the taskbar. When I am through using AnyDVD then I right click the tasbar and click exit and this turns AnyDVD off so it does not run in the background.
Thanks guys - Unfortunately, my fox icon never appears in the system when I click the icon, so I have no way to see if it is off or on - so I have to assume it is not running. I have uninstalled and reinstalled once, with no change...but I will try it again and get back to you. I would get ahold of Slysoft directly, but I don't remember seeing a way to contact them (- it almost seems like a problem with the registration key). Does anyone have contact info for Slysoft? Thanks again
Do you have Pinnacle or InterVideo installed on your computer? I guess there can be a problem with anyDVD running with them programs installed.
Also Try going to start> right click and then click on Properities> Taskbar and then on lower right click on customize and make sure AnyDVD icon has " hide when not active " showing next to it
My computer did come with Pinnacle studio software, but I have not installed it (I formatted my harddrive as soon as I bought the computer). Um, when I go into Task Bar properties and hit customize, the icon for anyDVD is not shown (in either current items or past items)
Did you use the backup disc when you re-formated or did you use your own windows XP version when you formated. I would make sure anyway that none of them other programs are installed. If you think it might be your registartion number do this. Uninstall ANYDVD and then go to slysoft download the newest versaion of the trial program install it and see if it works under the trial version. I still dont think that would matter cause if the Registration number isnt right it should say that when you try to open up AnyDVD.
I had uninstalled it before and reinstalled the trial version (5.4.1.1) previously, which left me where I am now. When I click on the product registration key, it states that anyDVD has now been registered and to restart my computer, but nothing changes. I found the tech support form for slysoft, so I'll shoot them a message and let you know what they figure out...
Do you have any Spywear or maleware programs or scanning programs installed that you could have not knwoingly block the program from working?
when you reboot you should have an desktop icon ,do you have? and yes make sure a sypware or virse scan program isnt blocking it, norton is horrible for that.and what are you using with anydvd to rip your dvds? CloneDVD 2 works best
Good questions all. I have: NOD32 (antivirus) Diamond CS TDS-3, ProcessGuard,Wormguard Spybot S&D (w/Teatimer on) Spyware Blaster Microsoft's antispyware The only one's that I would expect to interfere would be PG, Teatimer, and Microsoft - but anyDVD is on the 'permit' list for all, and not blocked Yes, I always have a desktop icon (and startup menu item) for anyDVD -that never goes away I just never see it in the Taskbar Thanks
Ok, I figured it out - no thanks to anyDVD's non-existent Tech Support or response. Problem was with Diamond CS Process Guard - not by blocking the actual program from running, but by blocking a driver during program installation. Even though you can instruct PG to allow the driver, it still won't install right. Once I disabled protection on PG during installation, no problems. Thanks for all of your help
