I've posted a previous thread, but i cant find it... I've only had about three successfull burns, which skipped uncontrolabley when veiwed so harshley the dvd was unwatchable... so after some advice and posting my logs i got some advice which i took... 1. Nero 7 seems to have alot of problems, try Nero 6.0.0.18 So i Made the change i am now running Nero 6.0.0.16 2. My firmware was out of date, so i successfully upgraded my firmware. 3. To many task in the background free up some memory, so i deleted all music, video, and picture files on my computer, removed some unused programs, and i also shut down as many things as i know i can w/out messing up my computer while i burn. After all these changes my burn still failed, i've also tried DVD X Copy Platinum and have not had one successfull burn, but in that case they all fail right when the burn starts...unlike Nero which fails around 99%-100%... Well Any Ideas Any Suggestions Would Be GREATLY APPRECIATED- Here is my Last Log___ Well Once Again My Burn Failed When Closing The Disc As Usual-- Any Ideas, no programs where running in the background, no multi tasking, and upgraded firnware ( Here Is The Log Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.74, size=164112 bytes, created 10/26/2004 6:35:34 PM Nero API version: 6.6.0.18 Using interface version: 6.3.1.4 Installed in: C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\ Application: ahead\Nero - Burning Rom Internal Version: 6, 6, 0, 18e Recorder: <HP DVD Writer 530r> Version: VPSG - HA 0 TA 0 - 6.6.0.18 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 0 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ATAPI === Scsi-Device-Map === CdRomPeripheral : HP DVD Writer 530r atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On DiskPeripheral : ST360020A atapi Port 0 ID 1 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8160B atapi Port 1 ID 1 DMA: On === CDRom-Device-Map === HP DVD Writer 530r D: CDRom4 HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8160B E: CDRom1 ======================= AutoRun : 1 Excluded drive IDs: WriteBufferSize: 36700160 (0) Byte ShowDrvBufStat : 0 BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 223MB (228756kB) Free physical memory: 77MB (79668kB) Memory in use : 65 % Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Disabled (0) 9.12.2005 NeroAPI 4:41:55 PM #1 Phase 112 File APIProgress.cpp, Line 276 DVD-Video files reallocation started 4:41:55 PM #2 Phase 114 File APIProgress.cpp, Line 276 DVD-Video files reallocation completed (no file modified) 4:41:55 PM #3 Phase 111 File APIProgress.cpp, Line 276 DVD-Video files sorted 4:41:56 PM #4 Text 0 File Reader.cpp, Line 127 Reader running 4:41:56 PM #5 Text 0 File Writer.cpp, Line 122 Writer HP DVD Writer 530r running 4:41:56 PM #6 Text 0 File AudioCompilationImpl.cpp, Line 842 DRM: StartDrmRecording(RealRec:1, ImageRec:0, Copies:1) DRM: Beginning burn process. 4:41:56 PM #7 ISO9660GEN -11 File geniso.cpp, Line 3309 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 4:41:56 PM #8 ISO9660GEN -11 File geniso.cpp, Line 3309 First writeable address = 0 (0x00000000) 4:41:57 PM #9 Text 0 File Burncd.cpp, Line 3233 Turn on Disc-At-Once, using DVD media 4:41:57 PM #10 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 270 Last possible write address on media: 2295103 (510:01.28, 4482MB) Last address to be written: 2286095 (508:01.20, 4465MB) 4:41:58 PM #11 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 282 Write in overburning mode: NO 4:41:58 PM #12 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 2483 Recorder: HP DVD Writer 530r, Media type: DVD+R 4:41:58 PM #13 Text 0 File DlgWaitCD.cpp, Line 448 >>> Protocol of DlgWaitCD activities: <<< ========================================= 4:41:58 PM #14 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 838 Setup items (after recorder preparation) 0: TRM_DATA_MODE1 () 2 indices, index0 (150) not provided original disc pos #0 + 2286096 (2286096) = #2286096/508:1.21 relocatable, disc pos for caching/writing not required/ required, no patch infos -> TRM_DATA_MODE1, 2048, config 0, wanted index0 0 blocks, length 2286096 blocks [HP DVD Writer 530r] -------------------------------------------------------------- 4:41:58 PM #15 Text 0 File ThreadedTransferInterface.cpp, Line 1051 Prepare recorder [HP DVD Writer 530r] for write in CUE-sheet-DAO DAO infos: ========== MCN: "" TOCType: 0x00; how can i free up more Memory, also i just updated my firmware//// If i do buy a memory stick how do i pick the right one?
on your desktop normal screen press ctrl and alt together then press delete once this will open up your task manager click on apps then close down all apps you are not using if you are burning the only one running should be nero, when you boot up your pc it will tell you if your mem. is 3200 or so on
