I've downloaded 2 seperate times, uninstalling inbetween. When opening shortcut, program not updated. Now, I have to through (compressed folder) each time. Sometimes installation proceedure is displayed, but still not permenately installed (after each install process).
Surely you've uninstalled all traces of DVD Shrink using Add/remove Programs in the Control Panel before trying to install or re-install a newer version. Yes? RWG
When I unzipped DVD Shrink 3.1.7B5 I did not get a shortcut. I just ran the program that I unzipped on the desktop like the old DVD Shrink used to be. I don't think this version updates your old program. In fact, the last couple of versions of DVD Shrink I've downloaded have worked like this.
Meiron The same had happened to me with the 2 newer versions of dvd shrink. I unistalled from add/remove programs also rebooted tried to load the shrink 3.17b version had no short cut on desk top. So i have kept my old versions not that i had any problems with them and i am quite happy just greedy. Maybe you are right forkndave i am going to have to have to spend another few seconds of my life clicking eleswere when time can be spent on backing up my dvds lol
FYI: Beta versions of DVD Shrink do not include installation programs. You simply copy, paste, & replace the older version in your system programs folder with the newer version. Only full non-beta versions of DVD Shrink include an installation program. ie DVD Shrink 3.1.7 FINAL
