Does anyone know of any software that will read a DVD (or CD) that already has a digital photo movie burnt to it and allow more photo movies to be added to the disk with the ability to update the menu screen to include the new photo move slides. All the software I have tried so far, (X-show, Nero photoCD etc.) require that the entire project is reburnt to DVD every time a new digital photo slide/move is added to the DVD. Potentially a DVD could hold hundreds, if not thousands of photos and every time you want to add a few more to the DVD it currently seems that you have to rebuild and burn the entire project. I understand that if the DVD is -/+ R then you could not edit the menu bit, but with -/+ RW I would have thought someone would have written some software that looks that what is on the disk to be burnt to and can add another chapperter/scene/button what ever so that you don't have to keep reburning all the photos time and again.

Any one know of software that could do this.

    HI THERE.
to put it simply, u cant do it.
but as u said if u use a dvd -/+ rw disc, u can re-burn the dvd a thousand times.
i know its a pain to have to rebuild the dvd then burn it again, but rebuilding the project would take 2 minutes, its the burning that is the time consuming part.
i personally use SONIC MyDVD for all my dv capture and dvd burning work cos it captures my dv tape in mpeg2 which i save to my h/drive, i then create a dvd project with the mpeg2 file, then burn it to my ritek G04 dvd-r discs. it will even allow me to reopen the project later and add more video or pics to the slideshow, then re-burn it back to the dvd if its a dvd -/+ rw disc only.
all up a 1 hour dv tape captured in high quality mpeg2 takes me about 90 min to capture, create the project then burn to dvd.
one day someone will no doubt create a way to do what your asking.
i hope im right with my answer for you here, cos if there is such a program on the market, ill be a bit surprised myself, and ill go eat my hat for opening my mouth so soon.
    good luck.....GLEN

If your talking photo slide show(with or without audio)

    1) As you know use a RW disc
    2) If you've got Nero, use Nero Vision Express, and save the project. You can edit, and reburn it on to the same RW.

    hi there.
hangfire, theres no easy way out of this one apart from saving your dvd project and files in a folder, and as you need to add new pics, just reopen the project, add the extras, re-save the project and either
    1. re burn to a new dvd+/-r disc, or use a dvd-rw to re-burn the project.
as u probably know, it would be impossible to do because u need to add the new images to your project to get them onto the dvd, so just grin and bare it and do it the way we all have to do it, its not that bad, its just the burning time thats a pain.
    regards....GLEN
