Any user friendly software to convert vob to avi format

    can anyone tell me if there is any user friendly software with which i can convert a dvd movie in vob format to avi format or mp4 format.. so tht i can have a compressed version of it. however also pls let me know if tht will affect the clarity or the video/audio output..

    Try AutoGK or Handbrake . Both easy to use. I would use Handbrake to convert to an AVI or mp4 using H.264 as a codec.

    thank you for your reply.. i did download handbrake 0.9.3 version.. but am not able to convert the dvd to avi compressed format.. do u hav any guide on how to use it? or any suggestions why its not working? Pls guide me thru this..

    actually i downloaded Handbrake installed it.. added up a dvd disc to convert and fixed up all the necessary fields like selecting the output folder etc.. but wen i say start, a screen jus pops up like a ms-dos function and then vanishes and nothing happens thereafter, nothin at all.. so wats the problem mates.. pls help me out or name some other software which can have things done bit easier..

    hey i completely went through many steps and managed to rip the dvd to avi format.. it was successful but however hav faced an issue with the audio. the sound quality is very low.. the volume of the audio is now very low.. is there any fix for this... it would be really appreciated if anyone can advice me on the same..

    I use AutoGK to convert mine to .avi.
