glossy black is kind of a fancy oriented color. im sure ittl get covered in finger print just like everything apple and the ps3. why do they make things glossy? it loads up on the finger prints....

Glossy is way better. It's shiny and it looks alot better. Im sure you can see finger prints but just get a cloth and just wash them of.

thats where we have a big problem. The shaper and more glossy the colour the easier it is for all that beauty to become ugly. I'm not big on cleaning.
One prob i had with my ps2 is that after awhile dust gets into the grooves around it and i have to clean them out. I hate that

Yeah I had my ps2 for a lot of years now and there's dust in everycrack I tried blowing were the dust is and some got of my ps2 but some stayed. Anyways the ps3 dusent look like it can get dust in it or at least not much of it. Everything or most of it looks covered/sealed.

The slim PS2 was easy to clean cuz the lense is exposed. But like the fat PS2... the PS3 lense is hidden away. BUt then again theres no cd tray on the PS3 so i dont think any dust will get inside. Whens the last time anyone clean the lense on a car deck cd player lol??? I dont think dust will be a problem for the PS3.

But the glossy strip on my slimline is all scratched. Im afriad my PS3 will be full of scratches and will look all ugly like my scratched up PSP.

    Not it you're extra careful.
Just don't do anything for it to get scratch up. Like if friends want u to come over and play some games either use their consoles or tell them to come to your home and bring the food ;)

    that's amazing. . .

but ya the 1 color thign for us doesn't really affect me since i was going to go sexy black anyways, but those who want other colors im sure people will have white ones and stuff on ebay if you just wait it out a bit. whether it be modded case or another format ps3 >.< which would blow. but ya modding would void sony's warranty. and maybe after few months of ps3 being out and after high demand, they will make official ps3 colors for US..or that whole customization thing anibus was talking about.

@alafossb Don't hold your breath waiting for sony to release any colour other than black in the US. They didn't for ps1 (i don't think any region had other colours), they didn't for ps2 (even though other regions had other colours) so i doubt they'll do it for ps3. If they do the black will still be #1 seller anyway.

You could always put plastic around it so dust dosent get in lol. But I'm sure you could disasemble the ps3 so you can clean the dust every once in a while. But now I'm afraid that the ps3 ill look all scratched up after awhile (even if I be careful with it). But hopefully that wont happen. The ps2 didint have that type of black that the ps3 has. The ps2 could get scratched but most of the time you wouldent see it like my ps2 stil hasent got any scratches on it after years. But the ps3 may be different since it's more of a shinny , glossy black.
