    movies27,
I would not have an answer on that. I am like you, I have no problems with AnyDVD at all. In fact, I was using 6.0.8.8 and It worked Great! Could not find 1 movie I could not back-up. I am on 6.0.9.5 now. No problems either. I understand when they update for new encryptions. They always do that.Slysoft updates AnyDVD a lot. I am GLAD they do. I am unsure why so many people have trouble lately. I bought my licenses for AnyDVD & CloneDVD 2 from Slysoft. I always update per Slysoft recommendation, install over the old version.
I can honestly say I have NEVER had a problem with either software after updating.
Maybe it is a software compatibility issue? Or, maybe a few are using cracks? I don't know
It will be fine, I am sure.Slysoft knows what they're doing!

Well either 6.0.8.5 or 8.8 caused my monitor to go black when burning with Nero. Only problem I've ever had. I like the fact they upgrade so much. Program stays fresh and working and any glitches are fixed fast.

The reason SlySoft updates often is to provide resolution to many reported software trouble or conflicts. Remember SlySoft's customer base is global. And I seldom have trouble using AnyDVD though there are many members here new and old who frequently complain of complications in backing up a single disk while using AnyDVD? I appreciate their attentivness to resolving software trouble and the fluctuating need for improvement that easliy comes about due to popular encryptions like RipGuard & Arccos that constantly change.

Updated both AnyDvd to 6.0.9.7 and CloneDvd2 to 2.9.0.3, all appear to be working fine.

    cincyrob,
It is pretty easy to see which update you installed from MSFT. Look in add/remone programs and make sure show updates is checked. It will show date installed. Uninstall AnyDVD, reboot, re-install AnyDVD and you should be good to go I have every critical update installed from MSFT. No Problems. The ONLY one I have not installed is Internet Explorer 7.

@cincyrob....do you mean 6.0.9.5 because 6.0.8.5 is going back little bit. I've read where patches can cause those optical drive problems you describe.:p
