I have a problem with a couple of copies freezing toward the end. Is this a media problem or something else? Narnia and King Kong copied fine. Pride and Prejudice froze just toward the end. Burn at 8X Using Verbatim DVD-R. Any suggestions?

    snuneznm,

Verbatim is considered excellent media. Two suggestions:

    1. You could consider slowing down the burn to 4X and see if that makes a difference.

    2. I assume you are doing movie only? Some dvd players do NOT like compressed media thus overloads. You could try splitting the movies over two discs, very easy to do. I believe KingKong is 3 hours, and the overcompression might be your problem.

    Thanks, mackdl

Actually King Kong copied with no problem on one Disc. I will try the 4x and see if that makes a difference. Also ordered some other recommended media - Taiyo Yuden 8X DVD-R - Appreciate your reply.

    sneneznm,

Freezing at the end of the movies sometimes indicate burning too close to the edge. Although I can't see this as a problem with Verbatim, you can change the target size to custom. Second page in CloneDvd2 (Title configuration) instead of "dvd5" in the dropdown menu, choose custom and set at 4300.
