I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here, but how do you apply AnyDVD against a downloaded movie? It appears that AnyDVD is triggered by inserting a CD/DVD and only accesses optical drives.

    Thanks,

You could always mount the image. But may I ask why you need to do this with a downloaded DVD? If you have downloaded it then all of the copy protection would be off the disc. No need for AnyDVD.

Correctamundo larrylje, and you should also turn off AnyDVD before burning with Imgburn or DVD Decrypter as it may or may not affect the burn negatively.

I thought if I purchased and downloaded a movie from CinemaNow, I would need AnyDVD to make a copy. I didn't read enough of CinemaNow's site at first to realize exactly what they're doing.

If I decide to purchase movies online, I'll find a site that mails the DVD.

    Thanks for the quick response.

Downloading from an online rental service and trying to burn is illegal, the same as renting from BlockBuster and burning is illegal.

Yeah, I know, but I looked through both of my posts and did not see "rent" or any form of the word in there. Did you? Or are you just reminding me.

    Thanks, locoeng ...

I'm very new in this roll-your-own DVD arena and feel like a ton of information has fallen on me that I have to sort out. So many new terms and so many new concepts - almost makes me want to go back to VHS.

nahhhh ... I'll stumble along until I get it.

This forum is a gold mine of information and the posters are terrific at responding quickly and thoroughly, so I shouldn't have too much trouble.
