my anydvd expired and im trying 2 shrink the movie racing stripes but for some reason it only goes up to 98% and then freezes up.. is there any other program like it or a way that i can get anydvd with out having 2 buy it? thnx
... Try DVD43Free .. http://www.dvd43.com/ http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd43.cfm
neonboy You can also try Decrypter - imho it's the best ripper out there. It can also be downloaded from AD Here's a link to some guides if you need them: http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/tutorial007.html
i tried using decypter but had the same problem it would only go 2 97% and on shrink when it gets to the 98% it says DVD shrink encountered an error and connot continue. faild to read file "D:/" datat error (cyclic redundancy check). what do i do now?
A CRC means your disc is dirty, scratched or you have a bad pressing. Try cleaning after the disc. Also if you are doing a full disc back up - try movie only - you won't have a menu though. Sometimes the last past of the disc is only the extras. edited to add: In the above link to guides there is a section for hard to rip dvd's w/ decrypter. You can also try that.
If you can afford it, just buy it! It is worth it. Decrypter and DVD43 are valuable tools also as mentioned before.
anydvd is def. worth it in my opinion as well, best darn $40 i ever spent on software~ has made my backup journey immensely easier~
I agree,I have my AnyDvd running all the time,I have it configured to start when I start windows. All these new encryptions are lame when up against AnyDvd just my 2 cents
I'm with you guys. I bought the AnyDVD/CloneDVD combo and it is now what I use 90% of the time. I also use DDDecrypter/Shrink, but not as much as the other combo. Only 1 coaster out of my last 50-pack and it was the very last dvd on the spindle. I think I may have screwed that one up.
Even if you do not want to buy the combo package at least spring for AnyDVD, it is well worth the 40.00, and they are excellent about updates.
Yeah CloneDVD is really a handy prog, I like the splitting capabilities and being able to retain menus on both disks. This has been working really great for TV episodal disks.
I tried the trial, and I really like the ease of use, and the quality, but that was after I bought AnyDvd,the wife thinks Ive spent enough on software lately
Lol, my wife says the same thing, I keep telling her that they keep coming out with better programs and I just have to try them :~)
anyone hear anything on ripguard yet??? Has it showed up on anydisks... a noob posted something that he has a disk with it on there...just curious...
haven't had a prob w/ anydvd, my wife just complains about how many blanks i buy, she doesn't know anything about software~ haven't seen any type of encyption that anydvd hasn't been able to resolve/handle just yet, guess we will all find out at a later time~
I have not been having any problems with DVDD or AnyDVD, and as for ripguard unless they put a big sticky on the disk I wouldn't know if it was there or not.
