I searched! I got my new computer today, installed anydvd, and got the 21 day trial version. I have the key written down from when I bought it for my old computer. How do I register it on the new one? Thanks!

No, never saved it. I do have it written down, though. This won't help? I still have access to the other computer if that will help me. Thanks again. And before anyone asks, this is a legit key I have written down when I bought it.

The "key" was sent to you by Slysoft and is a file. Your only recourse is email Slysoft and hope they'll re-issue you a key. For future reference, [bold] save your key on a floppy disc, CD-R, flash drive ,etc.[/bold] You may have it in the email Slysoft sent you. If you saved that email.
    Good Luck!

bunnyrip is right, the registration key is emailed and is needed to unlock. Even though it will show registration and serial number in the information it is not the same as the key file one. You can however look in you registry and see what exactly that number is. Go to run in your start menu, type in regedit, Hkey_Local_Machine, Software and the Slysoft and AnyDVD, this will show the key file.

Thanks again. I was able to find the key as arniebear suggested. I am going to email slysoft the key and and a link to this thread and see what happens. I just spent way more than I needed to on this laptop, and would hate to spend another $40.

There is no need to do all that. If you have the old computer, if you found the key in the registry as you say you did, just click save and save the keyfile to your desktop, then copy it to your new computer and register slysoft's products with it. Easy.

heya folks, i found this thread and i have a question. okay, you guys here at afterdawn had me convinced into downloading anydvd and trying it to back up my movies. LOVED it! the trial expired so I purchased it from slysoft and they emailed me the key file. I used the registration tool in the menu, located the key file, double cliked, and it said that anydvd was registered and to restart the program. I didn, and the program still only says that the trial version has run out. I tried it a coupke of times, same thing. So i thought i'd uninstall the program, download it again and then try to use they key. still the same thing. what am i dong wrong folks????

you guys have come through for me in the past, and I know you will this time....

    thanks guys
