I have been using anydvd and clonedvd for over a year, and it works great, but i recently tried the new any dvd ripper to rip the movie the Pink panther (It was a already decrypted copy) and on the progerss bar it gave a % complete that was like 342627353725627% complete and the one at the bottom was like -452334%. THe movie ripped fine but eas wondering why in the world that crazy error was there? Also, the ripper was really slow compared to Clonedvd 2. Like 10 minutes slower.
From what I understand, the ripping function in AnyDVD is still quite new. And like all new software versions, it could still contain some bugs. Don't worry though, Slysoft is very good at updating their software regularly as they do with AnyDVD to keep it current and make corrections. edit: typo
never had a problem with AnyDVD ripping or otherwise! Make sure your version is up to date. Pink Panther is a new movie and if your version of AnyDVD is not up to date then you might have a prob. As far as ripping times..... check to see that the disk doesn't have any fingerprints on it, this could slow down the reading process and rip times will be longer. Also if it's slower than CloneDVD, what settings did you have on CloneDVD (copy movie only)? make sure that AnyDVD settings for ripping was MOVIE ONLY, too! If you are still having this problem then I would get in contact with Slysoft.com and put in your complaint, unless this is a pirated version! Slysoft is good at fixing problems and should help you out.
this tool is new for anydvd as the program FixVTS has been out for a while quote New: Added "AnyDVD Ripper". This little tool repairs defective DVDs while copying them to your harddisk. It can be started from the menu of the AnyDVD fox icon. It can be started as a stand alone application from the start menu as well, so it can be used even if AnyDVD is not registered and the trial period has expired. It is identical to FixVTS (http://www.videohelp.com/~FixVTS/) but instead of fixing problems "in place" it copies the files to your harddisk directly from the source DVD. It fixes the problems while the files are copied. Some DVDs which have severe mastering defects e.g., "Menace II Society" R1 (US) can now be copied with all DVD copy tools (elby CloneDVD, DVDShrink, etc.) Many thanks to the author of FixVTS!
