I tried to reply to a post that pertained to AnyDVD update issues, but apparently i cant because it's too old. Anyway, I haven't had internet access for the last 6mths or so, and now i have it and tried to update AnyDVD, but to no avail. I attempted to download ver.6.0---something or other, but when i do and restart; it says my trial has expired. What am i doing wrong? I even DL'd it, then placed my key in the folder and opened it, then restarted-same problem.
Can someone tell me what it is that i am doing incorrectly?
    Thanks for any help!

    Tommy,

Did you contact Slysoft Tech Support? If you bought the product from them, I would imagine that they will take care of you.

In the interim, you could uninstall anyDVD. Use a good Registry Cleaner like the free one with CCleaner or JV16 powertools to clean your registry. Then download the latest trial version.

mackdl-i will take a look and see what i can do. thanks.

ejrinva-i know when i uninstall AnyDVD; it asks if i want to keep the registry info and i click no. I then go to the recycling bin and completely delete any of the AnyDVD related items.
I'm going to try again because i know i tried to uninstall the program and install the newer version with my key, but it was to no avail. I will try again though.

Uninstalling is not enough. You must clean the registry with a registry cleaner and delete the folder that the program was in.

ok-ive got more info. 1st-this is for my buddy's computer. I was just informedthat he purchased his key from ebay about 6 months ago. 2nd-i have uninstalled and removed the folder and cleaned the recycle bin. This works if i go to install the old version again; however, if i install the new version; it doesn't work. Its as if the key he has will not work with the updated version. 3rd-as for right clicking the 'key' and 'unblocking' it; there is no option there to do any such thing.
Im thinking the problem may lay in the ebay factor, but im sure you guys are way smart and have had this problem and made it work before. Any other help is greatly appreciated.
Again, 'ebay' key will work with older program but not with update.

    Tommy,

    1. I still don't think you understand. You must not emopty the recycle bin after uninstallation. You must clean the REGISTRY. Do you understand what that means? If not, do a google on the word "registry cleaner". A good free one is CCleaner. Install Ccleaner. Open the program. Click on the little blue cube that says "issues". Click on "scan for issues". If any issues are found, click on "remove issues". This is different from just emptying a folder.

    2. If your friend bought his key from ebay, he is probably out of luck. He should just fork over the money to slysoft. It's only $29 or something like that and worth every penny.

Hey, i'll readily admit that i am not joe computer! Thats why i look to you guys! ;) I will look into the cleaning now, but maybe i will just talk him into buying the true key from Slysoft. I am correct in saying that he can use this on as many pc's as he wants then?

If he buys 1 license, then he can put it on one computer.

    Here is the agreement:

This EULA grants you the following rights:
Systems Software - . You may install and use one copy of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT on a single computer or if you licensed it for multiple computers on as many computers as you legally obtained a license for, including a workstation, terminal or other digital electronic device ('COMPUTER').
Storage/Network Use - You may also store or install a copy of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT on a storage device, such as a network server, used only to install or run the SOFTWARE PRODUCT on your other COMPUTERS over an internal network; however, you must acquire and dedicate a license for each separate COMPUTER on or from which the SOFTWARE PRODUCT is installed, used, accessed, displayed or run. A license for the SOFTWARE PRODUCT may only be shared or used concurrently on as many different COMPUTERS as the license is valid for.

Well, if you want to violate your agreement, the key should work on multiple computers (I think, I have never used my key for any other computer than mine). But I don't reccomend that. Why cheat the developer of this great product?

$29 isn't very much money. If "your friend" wants to put it on 2 or 3 computers, why not just buy 2 or 3 copies?

OK, i ran the CCleaner and there was one item that said AnyDVD. I 'fixed' that and then installed the new version of AnyDVD, but it still doesnt work. It must be the 'ebay' factor. I will just get him to buy the true key because i know he loves the program, so like you said-why not spend the money.

I would do it in this order:

    1. Unisntall program
    2. Run ccleaner to clean registry
    3. Find the directory that the program was installed in and delete the directory too.(It should be a file called C: program files/Slysoft). Delete the slysoft folder.
    4. Restart the computer
    5. Install new product
