    I used to like AnyDvd but with the recent Blades of Glory mishap I'm starting to like DvdFab better. So, which one is better?

    Well, AnyDVD has been updated, does that mean it's automatically better than DVDFAB and that you like it again? Or does that mean they're both the same since they can now both decrypt the same movie?

    When DVDFAB is unable to rip a movie, does that mean you'll like AnyDVD again?

    @taylor30,

    A fully funtional release of AnyDVD that worked correctly with "Blades of Glory" was relesed only one day after a fully functional version of DVDFab that worked correctly with "Blades of Glory". In fact it took three releases for DVDFab to get it working versus one release of AnyDVD. Who had the "mishap"?

    regards

    It's obvious this thread won't last long, every time a discussion like this crops up we end up with a standoff (and to be fair it's usually the AnyDVD crowd that shout the loudest as some of them get far too protective over the program and dislike any comments against it; very wierd). Anyway, for me, i just happen to swear by DVDFab but i don't mind if other people prefer AnyDVD.

    Every now and then a film comes along that proves a little troublesome, but the various program authors always get there, whether one camp is slower than the other on a given movie, who gives a flying fig ?.

    @creaky,

    Did not mean to shout out anyone. I use both AnyDVD and DVDFab. Both are excellent programs and have different fuctionality. Both have been quick to update for the new protection schemes. Both have had releases with errors that were subsequently corrected. Don't know why anyone would switch preferences based on a single DVD release. My recommendation is keep as many 'tools' as possible for use in specific cases.

    best regards

    I have both programs. But prefer AnyDVD because it allows me to use a one button push to back up a DVD-start to finish after Recode or Shrink are set up. If one doesn't work, the other will usually. Both great programs and Fab is Free.

    What happened with Blades of Glory? I use DVD Decrypter, so I don't pay much attention to problems with new releases...

    I think both software are great. One cannot really say one is better than the other. Even if one fails on a movie, it will get updated pretty quick.

    my opinion, although I tend to lean towards anydvd most of the time, they are both useful programs and both can be relied on to come through usually sooner than later. It is nice to have both due the fact that when one has a problem, the other usually comes through.

    Hi, Please excuse my Newbie Question, but what does DvdFab HD
    Decrypter and AnyDvd Hd actually do?

    I know there is HD recordable media out there, But you would need
    a HD Dvd Burner right??

    Which I read somewhere are Very Expensive and Hard to come by. So
    I guess my question is what's the point?

    Please excuse my ignorance in this matter.
    Thank You.

    DVDFab will run on Linux AnyDVD never will due to the fact it is driver based. My vote goes to DVDFab because I run Linux. IMO Ripit4me is still the best ripper for 99% of all movies as it produces the best results for me!

    Right about Ripit4me and it doesn't even have to be updated. It uses 2 old tools Dvd Decrypter and Dvd Shrink too.

    DVDFAB HD DECRYPTER is free!
    ANYDVD cost $49.00, and the price is going up!

    Effective January 1, 2008, SlySoft will switch its pricing from U.S. dollars 1:1 to Euro.

    So far, DVDFAB PLATINUM, has sucessfully backed up all my DVD movies. This includes all the new movie titles others have had problems copying.
