Will I be able to make a copy of a copywrited DVD by just using the "copy DVD" option from Nero if I puchase anyDVD and have it running?

    Thanks

    Hi sadievan
Yes you can. Most newer commercial DVD's are dual layer so if using that option you'll need a dual layer discs and a dual layer burner.

If you have AnyDVD set to show new media info - it will give you the size of the dvd and if it's dual layer or not.

If you don't want to go that route and just use single layer discs then you can run AnyDVD and use Nero Recode. Will compress to fit to disc.

Thanks for the help. I am debating buying anyDVD. I did download DVDfab Decrypter, DVD Decrypter and DVD shrink. Am thinking of installing fab and trying that. If I went that route, would I just burn the folder that fab extracts too? I did use DVDxcopy express on my laptop, but am finding it will no longer work for some of my movies, so I have to find a new way. It's a shame, cause it was a nice, easy program to use.

Yep you can use the free tools - handle all the new copy protections also.
AnyDVD is great too - just runs in the background removing the copy protection.
You could just burn the video_ts w/ Nero - use the dvd-video option.
Might want to run those files thru vobblanker 1st.
Same deal if over 4.3 gig then need a dual layer - under you can use a single layer. Shrink or Recode will both compress the movie to fit to a single layer.
Here's some guides: one for dvfab/vobblanker & one for RipIt4Me (all free)

Try them out - I like to have different options :)
Old Xcopy user here myself (many at aD were too!)

    Binkie7,

Thanks. When you say to burn the video_ts, I'm thinking you mean to copy the "whole" folder intact and not just the files, correct.

Yes (sorry - forgot to type folder!) In Express you can add the folder or in Burning Rom just drag it over.
