    essay55,

Anydvd is only a driver and not a software programme. It works in the background to override some of the protection on the original dvd disk such as CSS. You should be able to see it at the bottom of your right hand corner a red fox. As you insert a original dvd disk that comes with protection anydvd will override the protection and let you copy your dvd disk. But you must have a dvd copy software to go along such as nero or dvd shrink.

I take it because you have more than one icon, you've also download CloneDVD2, and CloneCD?

Put a DVD in your ROM drive, the red fox on your toolbar should go pale for a few moments, then go back to red. ..this means the encryption's have been removed

Double click the CloneDVD icon, and access the VIDIO TS file from the drop-down menu at the top of the page it should be highlighted.

Go through the program, learning what each page does, until you come to the burning page, set your DVD size to custom, I use 4344 some use 4300 others, 436+ whatever the more compression you use,,, the longer it takes.
Now set your burn speed too about half of what your disc says it's capable of. :) and go for it, all being well you'll shortly have a copy.

Thats the easy way....There's a good help section to refine the process.

    good luck

You've got to have a dvd burner/writer in order to put it into a dvd disk Becos dvd rom only do the reading and not writing.

    Gringle,

Dont you think you need to apologise when you said something wrong or you still insist that you are right for being rude...by calling someone stupid....

When you said "but then I thought nobody could be that stupid..not to think of that???"

I will presume that nobody that mentioned are referring to me?...

Well since the original question: was about AnyDVD and what to do with the Icons on the desktop?

And your subsequent misreading of this question; I'm not surprised you manage to miss-read mine.

I think the lest said the better good-day.

When I downloaded ver 5.5.3.1 and updated anyDVD it put 3 shortcut icons on my desktop. All I did was drag them to the recycle bin and delete them. The program is ok, only the shortcut icon is removed.

    Give that a try.

@Gringle, you did not offend me LOL. But, having been around the block a few time myself, I put nothin past anyone.

    cheers

dirty deed's gitta be done, and someones gotta do em.
