In my opinion, buy AnyDVD it's well worth the money, makes things simple and it comes with free lifetime updates!

As for a broken copy, that would be piracy..... piracy is not condone here.

@jallan, I'm sure the previous responses got through to Opus54, I dont think you needed to add your RUDE 2cents worth.

My comment being rude is completely relative and just. -I- have only been here for a short time and have seen dozens of posts from people who are drawing attention to Afterdawn by asking for assistance in their acts of perpetuating piracy.

The more attention Afterdawn gets as being a harbor for piracy, the sooner Afterdawn gets flack from the MPAA and possibly shut-down. I, for one, refuse to sit idly by and be nice to people who could get this place in trouble.

AD does not condone piracy, with that I agree with you. My statement to you was that both a moderator and a senior member had already dealt with the question in a Diplomatic way.
I objected, not to your advising Opus 54 of piracy but the RUDE manner in which you went about it. In my opinion Rudeness is Ignorance and I dont tolerate either in any form.
Sure, reply to the thread but DONT BE RUDE

Rudeness is not ignorance. Ignorance state of not knowing (being uninformed) of specific knowledge. Sadly, the world has deformed the word in such a way that it's used in mainly in an extreme general way that has nothing to do with its actual definition and most of the populus is greatly malinformed.

So, with that said: I'm not continuing this any further. It's beyond pointless and I have copy protections to circumvent.

If you're speaking of AnyDVD: I own it. Although, pointing out that people could get it for much less through eBay is a very good point.

Bestsmiler, the vast majority WILL NOT ENCOURAGE ANYONE to buy AnyDvd off E-Bay. You are a member now, you should really know better than to say something as stupid as that!
SlySoft do a great job, they give us the means to back up our movies. Idiots like you just end up spoiling it for the rest of us. I suggest you edit your post, otherwise you will upset a lot of people here & you will become unpopular at an alarming rate.

    [bold]UNBELIEVABLE[/bold]

Jallan, the same goes for you.

You will both be quickly hounded out of here if you continue to encourage this.

Ignorant does not solely mean a state of unknowing. It also means ill mannered or uncouth. You really need to look in a dictionary sometime.

Look in the dictionary.. Sure thing.. Now, if you can point out the whole "uncouth" or "ill mannered" part in the link below, I'd certainly retract my statement.

    http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=ignorant

    Right, thought so.

Now, what's wrong with buying from eBay? Are you members saying that the copies of AnyDVD being sold aren't legit and/or legal? If the licenses/serial numbers are purchased from Slysoft and then sold on eBay, it's just as legal and -right- as buying directly from Slysoft. Remind me how that is -not- supporting Slysoft again?

No, they are not legit copies, when you buy it, the licence is just for you, NOT other people.
Tell me how buying off E-Bay helps SlySoft? They receive no monies for it do they? Since when was SlySoft affiliated to E-bay?

I get my defintions of words from the Oxford English dictionary, not a half bit website.

    They get their info from here;
"The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition
Copyright © 2000 by Houghton Mifflin Company."

The Americans know as much about the English language as a pigeon does. They are the worst at bastardising the English language.

[bold]Here is where you need to go for PROPER word definitions;[/bold]

    Hmmm, thought so...

I don't suggest getting AnyDVD from eBay. Not that I have anything against eBay because I have ordered some stuff from there before, but you could end up getting screwed. Someone could be giving you a serial that doesn't work. Buy it directly from SlySoft. At least it'll be legit and guaranteed to work.

How is Slysoft affiliated with eBay? They aren't and don't have to be. If I switched OSes to Media Center Edition, I have -full- right so sell my copy of Xp Pro w/ cd-key to -any- one person I choose. No one buys much directly from eBay, it's -through- eBay. Slysoft can easily have resellers. Just because someone buys a license and resells it doesn't mean it's illegal. Remember, the illegality of it all begins when two machines have the same serial number/cd key in use. I could buy 30 serial numbers from Slysoft and sell them on eBay if I wanted to at -any price- I wanted to. Simple. As long as I held true and honest about never used duplicate numbers.

Yes, I understand and see the argument about potential piracy on eBay with unofficial serial numbers. But, It's buyer beware and I would never by anything without a garauntee of legitimacy. So, yes: Shame on the people who sell pirated copies and keygenerated cd-keys. But, if it's legit, Slysoft isn't suffering since they were paid the approriate amount either from a package deal or individual.

    yawning,
    john

You do understand that when "informal" is used, it means improper yet still used in said manner, yes?

Another thing: You're only perpetuating the bastardization of the English language by using "Ignorant" in such a way. I have several dictionaries from the 70s and 80s and none of them use ignorant is that way. We're living in the world of the completely malinformed and I take offense to the statement about the North Americans. Yes, "We" majorly screwed up the language. Hell, we could be the reason why "ignorant" is use in such an improper way. But, seriously: Quit with the damn cop-outs.

    @ Gamename, not really no....

Informal is still a valid way of using a word. Since when did informal mean improper?

You need to read the terms & conditions when setting up AnyDvd, you will find that that you are not allowed to re-sell the licence. As with pretty much all software, including XP.

    Yawning.....
