I've started thinking about getting myself a drawing tablet because i'm spending over €100 a month on paper, ink, pencils and the like.. And then i have to scan in my work... Other than a proper brand (wacom) i haven't got a clue on what to get, so... are there any members out there that have any suggestions?
From what I've heard you shoud wait for the new mobile chipsets to come out for mobile devices. My resoning is this: If you spend $1200.00 a year on all of that you can buy an entry level tablet for that price or you could wait till Vista comes out and all of those high-end tablets go to mid if not low end because all the high end ones will come ready to support Vista. Point made simple, this is not the time to buy anything new untill Vista comes out because all of these companies have hardware lined up to be brought out with Vista and that will make all the good stuff cheap and all the really good stuff insanely expensive.
Point taken, but the problem is i really can't afford to wait till vista comes out so... Anyone else have any thoughts on this
Can't afford to, since drawing and inking takes a lot of time, and then having to scan it in on what must be the slowest scanner EVER, i quickly end up working 48 hours on just one piece. Which is just to long.
Why "other than (Wacom)"? I have a Wacom Graphire 3 (6x8) that I really like. If you shop around you can usually find a pretty good price for it. The pen is nice, but the mouse that comes bundled with it is crap. I realize that it may not be the professional "Intuos" line, but I have a feeling this is one area where you really get what you pay for.
@ Trgrpllr: i think you misunderstood me there, i meant that other than knowing what brand to get (wacom), i didn't have a clue on what model i should get @ wdowsing : price range is around €300/350, although i'm willing to go over it if i must. [edit] i just checked out that graphire 3, it's totally what i'm looking for, and i can even afford it, and there's a store that has one in stock only a mile from here thanks for the help fellas[/edit]
Just got it, it's taking some getting used to, but it's great when i use it with Flash. They had a "showroom" model (hadn't been used, except for display in a glas cabinet), so i got that at €80, so needless to say, i'm pretty happy with it. So again, thanks for the good advice
