Does anyone know of a business that chips PS2's in southern California. Im not too crazy about shipping it somewhere, and neither are my friends. For reference Ive got a Version 1, American NTSC PS2, and thinking about a Magic 3. Thanks

I live in San Diego and sent my ps2 to Supleh for installation in Georgia. It was about 10 days from the time I shipped it until I got it back. Works great.

What version do you have, I talked to a installer and he said that version 1 had a success rate of only about 50/50 and told me the Magic Chip was garbage and not to waste my money. These were both discouraging since I havent heard anything really negative about the magic and thought that version 1 wasn't too bad to install on.

Ver 5 Magic chips are not junk. Sounds like he has stocked up on another chip and trying to unload. I would probally avoid this guy. just read a bit here, you will see magic is a great chip.

Yeah, thats what I've figured. These forums have been really helpful,I'm just wondering how easy/difficult it is for an installer to work with a version 1 PS2
