The title is pretty self explanatory. I'm looking for a freeware burning program, besides imgburn, that is capable of booktyping.

    Thanks.

Yes, the question is self explanatory; the motivation however, is not.

Off hand, i can't think of another freeware burn engine that booktypes. But, ImgBurn is better, and not just in my opinion, than most payware burn engines.

I guess my question is why would you want something else?

    P.S.
I'll gladly do some digging as the question has aroused my curiousity. Just wondering why you would want something other than ImgBurn if you wish to booktype.

What's wrong with imgburn that you would wish not to use it ?

i could see imgburn a hard thing to follow for a new user, you been in options lately and tabs, its massive! and can be very off putting and a scary place to delve into...

me too i use imgburn! dogs nuts

With the new opening screen that came with the last two updates, i thought it made it a bit more newbie friendly. But, you're right, there are a lot of tabs and options to wade through that may be confusing to a new user.

I've finally got around to using imgburn and i like it. it seems quite easy to use so i might well finally dump Nero 6.6.0.18

    Creaky,
I swear by ImgBurn. Especially since these latest updates have added a few nice things to the functionality of the program. Methinks you'll dig it. ;)

I always find statements like that odd. How can one compare the two? Nero has it's tool kit, Recode ( a very good shrinking app), it's authoring app (Nero Vision) a wealth of audio tools (love all the various filters) including audio editors the ability to convert to DD 5.1, a virtual drive, photo apps, cover disign.... the list goes on and on.

It's really recommended to leave everything at default anyway so as not to cock anything up eh :O

i never never never never never never never never never never never never EVER! use nero, just a big fat slow app that doesn't seem to get anything done....buggy as hell! wont burn this, wont burn that, creates coasters, interferes with my other programs, changes the defaults, exits out during burns and for whatever reason it doesn't even burn sometimes LOL locks up and closes out!

........i think i had to gather a dozen apps to replace the jobs it did, i've now been without nero usage for over a year and i get by:).....although i did like the win95 nero saga..... ran very smoothly and the GUI was bright and shiny so it kept me entertained during my burn !
