Anyone know whats the difference w/these 2 drives?

    I just recently purchased the Sony 530ul external from bestbuy for around $250 and now I see some Sony 8x (SONY DW-U18A) out for around $110. Does anyone know why one is so much cheaper than the other??

    Would imagine that the latter is an internal drive.

    Internal drives are normally at least 50% cheaper than external models

    I just realized that they are taking internal drives and putting them in "external" boxes? I didn't know that could be done but.. that's what it says
