I recently purchased an EVGA 7800 GTX video card which came with Power Director Pro 2.55 ME. I needed to convert a 3.5 hour VHS to a DVD with indexes (chapters) and titles. I tried to use the software to do so but it locked up the whole computer after about 2.5 hours of successful conversion. I thought maybe the OEM version shipped with the card was possibly old and buggy so I paid the upgrade price and got Power Director 4 from Cyberlink's website. I installed it after unistalling the old program first and now immediately on launch of Power director 4, I get error messages about "program has referenced memory at location blah, blah, blah, that could not be read. Program will terminate". I dumped the new Power 4 and loaded the older 2.55 OEM again and was able to successfully use it to convert the VHS to a 6.5 GB MPEG II file but now I need to index it (chapterize it), Title it, and shrink it to fit it on one DVD. Supposedly this Power D 4 is supposed to do all that but I can't get it to work on my computer. Does anyone else use this version of software? Does it work well? Can it do all that I need it to do? Is there a better way? Bottom line I need this done TODAY and I am running out of time. Can anyone help?
