what exactly is the problem Mistycat? You can scan your disks at 150% and it will practically fit perfect to the Print CD/DVD program! I scan at 300dpi and you see the results. I only buy Taiyo Yuden DVD+Rs, 8x, white inkjet printables or silver inkjet printalble, both code out to YUDEN000T02. The best media around!

    IHoe,

I just bought some TY DVD-R 8x white inkjet hub printable DVD's for my backups, but I was wondering what you use the silver inkjet printables for?

What is the difference between the 2?

Also the TY's that I bought were manufactured by TY for a company called Linko.....I got them from the supermediastore, but I wonder if they are the same quality? Where did you find the code that you just posted for those TY's that you bought?

    Josh,

Thanks for the offer, but I already have one on the way that I bought off of eBay.

I bought a used R340 and went on vacation the next day. For some reason I thought that I had bought an R380 and while I was on vacation I bought a tray for an R380 off of eBay. I was already to go when I got home and the tray was there waiting for me, or so I thought. I couldn't figure out how to make the R380 tray fit into the R340 tray receiver which is about an inch to small for the R380 tray. So....I'm currently in a holding pattern until the other one gets to me. Fun fun fun!

    IHoe,

I checked my DVD-R's with DVD identifier and it gave me this Unique Disk Identifier: [DVD-R:TYG02]
    Manufacturer ID: [TYG02]

As far as the silver inkjet printable DVD's......Basically you use them if there is any silver in the original DVD at all.

you have genuine Taiyo Yuden disks. IMHO.... you can't get a better media than Taiyo Yuden.

If you notice the hub....inner circle...... I use Silver inkjet printables when the hub is large..... I use the white Inkjet hub printables when the hub is small!

    IHoe,

Just printed my first DVD and I am wondering how to cut the little silver edge off of the origional DVD scan after I scan it so it won't print on the new disk?

    2 choices.

1)Edit the edge out of the image before you import it to PrintCD

2)Stretch the image so the silver is outside of the printable area.

    Thanks for the help dailun.

What is your guys consensus on using remanufactured inks that the Supermediastore sells?

The price is great, but they don't always get good reviews.

You can buy 4 complete sets for less then the price of one original set of Epson cartridges right now at Supermediastore.

If you are "brave" enough, install a CISS (Continuous Ink supply system".

    "I print with impunity".

However, that having been said, it's not for the timid. It's not a perfect system but once you get it running, it's great!!!

I "gave Epson" it's $180.00 for 2 cart sets. My turn to make it back.

Another alternative is the refillable cartridges (fill your own) with resettable chips.

For those who don't want the hassle, the ink quality will vary with the clone carts being sold.

Does anyone have an rx595 with CISS?

I keep getting errors. The printer just won't recognize the cartridges.

    Does anyone have any tips?

If this doesn't work I just might have to buy from that 4inkjets place if their cartridges work.

The carts from 4Inkjets work perfectly in my RX680. You put them in the plastic adapter (one is supplied with each cartridge) then install the whole thing in the printer. Buy a set of 6 & see what I mean. You will like them!!

His (john411) problem was resolved in his other thread. CISS not installed correctly.
