ok first off it's obvious you need a DVD Writer and Blank Media ideally.
Also get DVD Decrypter form this site which is totally legal and free and which everyone who knows anything about DVD burning has.

The following are steps to "backing" up and X-BOX game.
    -Open DVD decrypter program.
-Insert the game you wish to "backup".
    -Click Mode>ISO>Read
-Find a folder location on your drive in which you want the game files to be stored.
    -Then click copy or decrypt
-Once the process is done take your game out and insert a blank DVD disc.
    -Then change to Mode>ISO>Write
-Now open the game from the folder it was copied to
    -Now click burn

Then check that all the files are on the DVD and they are the appropriate size in comparison to the original and test it in your modded X-BOX. That should set you on your way in most instances

youll end up with something like a 15k file

to copy an xbox game (opps BACKUP)
you need to network your xbox to your pc, via a network card and crossover cable (unless you are going through a router etc, then use standard cable)
then you need to connect to the xbox via an ftp program, (flash fxp is the best)
then you need to copy the files from the d:/ directory of your xbox onto your hard drive
then you need to create an iso with a tool such as craxtion
then burn it to a dvd with a prog such as stomp recordnow, nero etc
If it was as easy as putting a disc in your pc and copying it, then I dont think people would have many problems, do you?

ok for the last time im going to say.

PC DVD-ROMS WILL NOT READ XBOX GAMES, XBOX GAMES ARE WRITTEN BACKWARDS, I DONT CARE HOW MUCH SOFTWARE YOU HAVE IT WONT WORK ITS A HARDWARE PROBLEM.

    Its like saying
"i just downloaded a program called monoprint, it allows your moniter to print pictures"

    Matt-

I agree with you and Boogie at the same time. Let's be honest, backing up a PS2 game is as easy as making a cd compilation on Real Media Player. Just don't want this guy giving our newbies false hope. Geez...we've all spent weeks sometimes even months perfecting this stuff.

Well i guess thats your experience I couldn't say but it does work for me, that's odd. It honestly does I've backed my games using the hardrive as well but I've got a about 15 Xbox games backed up using that method.

You know elven, the problem with writing this, is someone will see it, and try it, which defeats the object of these forums, namely, to help people, not turn their dvds into coasters. I do not believe for one minute you have created a succesful xbox game just with dvd decryptor, for one your pc wont read the xbox disc. It will make a small file in the region of 15-30k yea theres a file to burn albiet small, but you try it in your xbox.!
All I can say is, people reading this, PLEASE dont try the decrypter method, theres people on these forums that give up their effort and time for a reason.
Do your research, read the rest of the threads in other areas of this forum, but dont try to make an xbox backup JUST with a pc using programs like dvd decrypter.

Ok...I tried this and put it in my Xbox...here is what happened:

"Hey...it does come up with a really cool Xbox scene where there is a green Xbox in the middle of the screen then it explodes...then it says in like four or five different languages "this is an xbox game...please insert it into your Xbox."

but then when I try and play it with the mod not enabled...it says you need the DVD thingy to operate

So it doesn't work. And by the way...it also made my Xbox drive or dvd player grind very bad.

Actually.. I was wrong.. You can burn a Xbox game this way, but only if it's NOT a Xbox original game. You can copy a copy the way elven-07 is describing. But why would you want 2 copyies of the same xbox game? Unless your using them for frisbee's..

NO Offense Matt...but duh? I mean...I can use my Roxio with my Plextor to make DVD to DVD copies...but why would I want to decrypt it? Matt...I think Eleven is just full of BS...sorry...but I call'em like I see e'm...and if I ruined my drive...he's buying me a new Xbox. Folks...don't try this post at home. Enough said.
