Hello all, I currently have Tuneup 1 click Maintenance (only for about 15 more days though :( ), as well as Ad-Watch 2007, Ad-Aware 2007, and AVG 7.5. Basically I just want to know is there anything else I could use to maintain good security on my machine? Thanks in advance.

AVG Anti-virus, and Ad-Aware 2007 anti-spyware, are both good programs. ZoneAlarm, would be a good choice for a free firewall.
Spybot: Search and Destroy, AVG Anti-spyware, or SuperAntiSpyware, are good choices as well. Note: Ad-Watch, provides real time scanning to block Malware. So, if you install a second Anti-spyware program, be sure to turn off the Malware scanner.

Keep Windows updated. Keep all your other programs updated. Run Anti-virus, and Anti-Spyware scans every week, if possible. Run Disc Cleanup and Disc Defragmenter, by-monthly. Don't open emails from sources you do not know. Don't click on pop-up ads. Don't download files from unprotected websites. Don't go to adult websites.

    ultimate security package

1.) firewall (any one that blocks in/out traffic will work)
2.) antivirus (the one you have is good enough)
3.) most important one "only use firefox 2.0 as your browser" - (do not use internet explorer ever because it is hardwired to the registry and it will be compromised.)
4.) instead of antispyware programs which will slowdown your computer use the free program "returnil" when you surf the internet. It actually speeds up your computer.

With the above package I surf where ever I want, and I have full confidence I won't get compromised.

If you decide to use internet explorer make sure you use "returnil" all the time even when surfing "friendly" websites those are sometimes the most dangerous with there popup ads. "returnil" is the only program that will defeat any spyware/virus that enters the registry through internet explorer. It will even defeat the dreaded "killdisk" virus.

Thanks Jony, and no, I have no intention of using Windows Explorer, yuck! Thanks for the response, I'll try your setup.
