Apex DVD AD1010W - Scrolling Black & White Screen

    I rec'd this DVD player last year for Christmas. It has worked great until this past week. When I turn on the DVD player, the screen just scolls in B&W. I can put a DVD in it and it plays, but with the scrolling B&W screen. I've switched the "red, yellow, & white" cable with another one and same result. The player has to go thru a modulator so I can play it on my old TV. I am not technical with DVD players or any electronic equip. So if you could describe as basic as possible any suggestions, I would appreciate it.
