Does anyone know when people will be able to buy content directly from the apple TV, instead of buying through a PC, and synching or streaming over your network? I want one bad, but ugh....its ok kinda but if my mom wanted to use it and rent/buy a movie, then we gotta problem.

at this point i dont think you can rent or buy directly from Apple tv, what apple tv is a giant ipod. i think if you want to spend all that money, you can get your self an 80 gb ipod classic, and an apple dock that comes with remote, you still be spending less than if you were to get an apple tv, apple tv 40 gb is $299 usd apple classic 80gb is $249 usd and $49 usd for dock with remote and cables you still be ahead with a slightly larger hard drive space. The apple TV 160GB is $399 USD ipod classic 160GB is $349 usd. is all up to you. i personally went the ipod way and still save my self some money, now if you like to rent from tv the new tivo's are capable of buying from Amazon Unbox directly from the set top box, no computer involve, that would be your best solution.

Ps i forgot to mention philips brand sells a dvd player surround sound with build in ipod dock i saw it at my local walmart, check it out, good luck.
