****April usb update uncripples HDD function****

installing to HDD seems to be fixed but avatars still missing even after a couple of reboots

 

If you have access to a 360 that's connected to Live, you can take your hard drive from your offline console and connect it to the online one, sign into Live, then you'll be prompted to update again and it'll download the avatar editor and missing themes, which will work fine when you connect the hard drive back to your offline console.

I went about it the wrong way originally. I took the hard drive from my already updated online console and updated my offline console with it, instead of connecting the hard drive from my offline console to my online one and updating that way. Hope that makes sense. It all works as it should now anyway.

 

thanks!!! will try it now, hope it works becuase my 360 overheats and shuts off unless i run the game from the hdd.

 

If that happens put your console in a better place with more air and get a talismoon fan and some core coolers.

Has anyone confirmed if it still corrupts profiles and game saves?

 

well I just got done switching a thumb drive between both of my 360's and it's still corrupt.guess I will have to uncripple my hard drive myself.The thing that sucks is its an arcade model.So it can take either 12 or 24 hours to get a good nand dump,and they say you need twh well

 

So will this update allow me to watch videos and listen to music from my usb drives?

 

problem is i lost that plastic piece that helps air flow from the fans to the gpu

 

I wouldn't be running the 360 without that. You're going to fry it no matter how you play the game.

 

i have fully updated with 1.1ix benQ ill see this summer if i was flagged.

 

ive been playing it that way for over a year now, it only recently has started giving me fits.

 

im not sure but i think you can connect via usb and it only takes a few minutes for a nand dump.
not to sure how to as i have an elite that i uncrippled.
i think team xecutor have a new device that is usb not lpt.
also i am nearly sure you can build a usb connection rather than an lpt one.

I have heard there is a way with a usb but I only see them for sale. If some one knows a guide I would be thankful

 

You can buy clear ones, stock ones, ones with lights. There is a large variety of them available for like $10 online.

 

where can i buy them from? so far games are running fine of the hdd now though

No, if you already have your dummy.bin, load that into source and then load iX LT 1.1 for 83850c LiteOn into target. Click spoof source to target. Go over to the MTKFlash tab, click LiteOn erase. Click OK to the next 2 prompts. Power cycle the drive (off/on on your connectivity kit or unplug power cord to DVD drive for 1 second then plug back in). Should get status 0x72 with good flash chip properties. Write the firmware.
