I have a video file and the aspect ratio of it is such when i play it on my tv it is not the full screen. Is there any way that i can solve this problem within the nero 6 programme
Hi jack3216 You can use Vision and change the aspect ratio to 4:3. In vision clcik on the 'more' button then 'default video options'. Go to the DVD-Video tab to change it. Another option is to use vobblanker (free) to change. Open the .ifo in vobblanker - pick a folder to save it too - then right click on each vts file you want to change the aspect ratio on. Click process - takes about 5-10 mins. Quality may suffer and picture may be a bit distorted though.
Thank you for your reply. I done that before i went to forum i dotted the tab foe AS 4.3 but it made absolutely no difference to video. When i played it on my TV there was still black borders top and bottom. Your further advice would be appreciated
hmmm is this an avi that you converted to dvd video? May not be able to change the aspect ratio too much if it is. If not that - is this just a video file from a original dvd you are trying to make fullscreen? Give vobblanker a shot - I tried I think 2x changing to full screen w/ vovblanker. Wasn't total full screen but very little space on top & bottom. When you right click on the files pick 'video attrib' to change the aspect ratio.
it is a movie i downloaded from internet. I downloaded vob blanker but cant open help files on it. Could you give me a few hints on what box to tick auto pan scan auto letter box or letter box(cropped)and what resolution to use and which aspect ration to tick. Forgive my ignorance
No ignorance on your part - No expert myself on vobblanker for changing the aspect ratio. The couple I did were ripped from the original dvd so the download may not work as well. I think all I changed was 16:9 to 4:3 and unchecked the boxes under pan scan letterbox and used the default resolution of 720X480. See if those do the trick. You can run it thru vobblanker than play back thoses files on the pc b/4 you burn to see if makes it more of a full screen. Keep us posted.
You can use Nero Showtime. Open Showtime then pick the 'select source' button. You can pick 'play from folder' then pick the folder where this movie is located. Maximize the screen to see if it made any diff in the resolution.
Experimented with a couple of settings made no difference. Dont think VOB BLANKER is the answer but ty for your help anyway will have to investigate further
Sorry it didn't do the trick for you. If you do find out how to get a better screen size on those downloads let us know. If would definitely be helpful for others!
