    Hey,
I was just wondering if all HDMI cables were the same, or are some
better than others. Such as Brand, Regular Tipped, Gold Tipped, etc.
Also does the lenght of the cable effect performance?

    Thanks for the Help.

I'm sure some are better quality than others but i can't see paying up to $100. for one lousy cable.
I thought i'd give the cheap ones on amazon a try and it works quite well.
$10.50 for 2 of the 6ft HDMI cables. Tested and working well for about 1 week and counting. Great picture going from my 1080i upconvert dvd player to my Hitachi hdtv..

From what I've been reading they are all the same, they all transfer the same signal to and from your hardware.

Now on the length question, you have electrical properties that include resistance, capacitance, and inductance. If any of those properties are effected, then you will have signal problems. I believe cables that are typically longer are more susceptible to interference. So I suppose this is where the cables with better shielding would perhaps be better.
Correct me if I'm wrong anyone.
