I know that if you try to go online and play co-op before the game is released you will get banned. What about if you just play the game unplugged from live? Will they be able to see that you got achievements before the game was released? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Not trying to be a smart but there was a thread that was already up about that. Check it out. From what I've been told people r playing the game online and not getting banned.
I've tried searching but all I see is the article about RE5 being leaked. There are some comments, but no cut and dry answer. If anbyone knows, please fill me in. Thanks
Yeah it has been leaked for like a week now, but I don't know why people are so fascinated in playing games before release dates. I mean seriously, is it something to prove to your friends or what.. lol.. Anyways, I wouldn't risk playing the game early. But that is purely up to, try it out and post back . I'm sure offline gameplay is just a exhilarating as online play. With the exception of your online status as playing Resident Evil 5. Sorry, I kind of misread your original post. Safest thing to do when playing a game before release date is keep your ethernet cable unplugged(obviously...lol) and also, remove your hard drive and save to a memory card.
it doesnt matter if you play online or off. play offline then go online, the game still shows up as being played, if you get achievements for it then they will know you played it early. ive played early and im not banned. i have a few friends who have the game early too and they arent banned.
There is a way to play without saving or signing in I played it yesterday after doing an xbox and I had no hdd or profile. Of course you won't be able to save that is pretty much the safest way to do it besides the memory card option. I did a date switch trick with GTA offline and played before the release was able to go online and play once the game had officially been released
to everyone saying you've played it and are not banned- its more than likely because they do all their bannings at once, not on an individual basis. there is a good chance you've been flagged for the next mass bannings. i hope im wrong ofcourse, but only time will tell.
Care to elaborate on that? Truth is, no-one know's for sure if M$ will do it in waves or on a user-by-user basis or even what their crteria for banning someone is. People do seem to report bannings in bulk though.
i understand the argument that if you play offline and then connect it will show the date still. what if you changed the date to like year 2010 while u were offline and then played offline with that date set in the system, reove game and reconnect and then go onlive. Will it show the date as 2010? or will it show the real date? I ask cause before i played on live i could not get my system to keep the correct date/time, i would set it and it would either reset when i turned off and on or when i unplugged and plugged the power back in. but ever since i started using live it keeps it no matter what. very strange and i have seen it on other boxes too
I never had a problem with the date switching I was offline when I did the date switch when I hook my xbox 360 back up I'll tell you exactly what happend but I was offline until the release then switched back and went online.
i played this game co-op and single player early while connected to live, just like i do every other game. and i am not banned.
I beleive what was said ealier. You might not get banned now but on the next big update you just might be.
