Are there any other e-mail clients that are better than Gmail?

Better is relative. I agree that Gmail is probably the best that I have been exposed to in terms of all its features but I recently had the need for a significant increase in space and I found another site which offers 15 times the size of Gmail and it's also free. So it's better than Gmail in terms of the amount of free space that it offers. Gmail outclasses it in all other respects.

Let me first say that I set up an account with the site I alluded to above but I hadn't used it as yet. It was my intention to use it as a means of uploading files(incremental/differential encrypted backup) from my business office for temporary storage to later download on my PC at home. Sort of a temporary free off-site storage which I was planning to start using within say 2 weeks. After making the above post I figured that someone might PM me or ask about the site I mentioned so I logged in and desided to take a more in depth look at its features. My inbox had a solitary email with an attachment with my username and password. I already knew this information but like an idiot I decided to open the attachment. It was a zip file which I didn't save to my HDD but instead opened it with WinZip. Here's the kicker. I have both AVG and Ez Antivirus running and the latter had an immediate pop-up alert that it detected the Worm32.Sober.W virus which it removed. More importantly I clicked on the link in my virus alert and discovered that this little fellow more than just annoying. Here's more info if you're interested http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/virusinfo/virus.aspx?ID=49473 So I think it would be ill advised to use this site as your e-mail address until they get rid of their bugs. BTW the name of the site is www.30gigs.com. If this has happened to anyone else or if you've heard of a similar story then please feel free to comment.

Like the old saying goes.....if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't. I think I'm much better off paying for online backup. I really don't want to be courting a disaster.
