This is really frustrating, i'll explain what's going on... There is a music video (only 5mins long) on my computer which I would like to burn onto dvd, sounds easy, right? well for some reason it just isn't happening. First off, it's a mpeg file. i'm not sure if that's anything to do with it but just incase. When i burn it, the burning process goes okay, you can actually see the picture freeze on the preview screen in the exact same place as it freezes when i play back on my dvd player. I've burned movies before on the same disks, the same dvd burner, and played them back on the same dvd player and this has never happened before. when I go to play the music video back on dvd, it shows the first few seconds then it suddenly just pauses for no reason at all. and it will freeze for over 2 minutes in the same place. i'm using nero express 2 anything i can do to stop this?! the actual video file on my computer for the music video doesn't freeze when i'm playing it on real player so it's not the file or the music viedo that's at fault. any help would be great, thank you!
I take it this is a download, ive never done this myself but it sounds to me like whoever uploaded it uploaded a dud video.
but if it were dud, wouldn't it also NOT work when I play it on Real player on my computer? i mean, when I play it on real player on my computer it works fine, without freezing up, but when i burn it, it freezes.
I've tried to burn at all different speeds, max, med, low, lowest, and the results come out the same for that one video. the brand of disc is Maxell dvd-rw 4.7gb data discs. ive tried this type of disc with another music video and it came out fine, i've tried two different brands of disc with the music video that won't won't and still there's no change. i know there must be something to do with the actual music video because it stops at the same exact place everytime, but, what i don't understand is, how come when the video plays on real player on my computer it goes all the way with no stopping, but when i burn it, it freezes in parts? i don't understand it. :/ thanks
You may want to update the firmware for your burner. Just go to your burners website and download it. Should be ok. The codecs for the video file is fine for pc viewing, but now you're transferring the file and your burner needs a little update. Let me know either way, what happens. Should be ok. Also, you might go to the maxell site for the firmware update to your burner. I believe blank disc manufacturers are all using the same update, but it seems when I get them from the disc manufacturers, I have no problems.
