hi ya there i need some help, sound is missing on some AVI files i have!

the other day i needed to reinstall windows XP pro so i wiped my hard drive that only has the OS files and my program file on it, the reinstalling XP Pro!

my second slave hard drive that has my AVI files on it i didnt touch at all!

now when i decided to i wanted to watch a episode of a well known cartoon series the sound was missing during play back!

so i changed my player, still no joy after all these

    winamp

    divx player

    media play 10

    classic media player

then i installed every codec known to man! still no joy!

the funny this is it has ony affected one cartoon series and all 50 episodes!

the other AVI files i have stored are fine!

does anybody have a clue what the problem could be?

    or how to fix it?

    thanks dunwell!

    Hi,

In addition to what philraz said I would try using vlc player found in the software tabs at the top to view the avis. I had the same issue but running them thru vlc no problems at all. Good luck.

    Hi,

Codec packs are usually in the software section as afterdawn is made aware of them. Also on filepedia (which is affiliated with afterdawn) the latest codec packs can be found. Interesting that nero was conflicting with audio...version 6 (6.6.0.18) shouldn't cause any interference.
