Hello, all... I was just having a look back through my first forum posts at [bold]arniebear, creaky and rotary[/bold] helping me try to achieve my first successful burn, and [bold]kivory666[/bold] subtlely suggesting that I use the "search" function first while giving media advice... LOL Those two and a half months seem like ages ago in the DVD backup world. Everyday, I see that same crew weaning another "newbie;" always with patience and sound advice. Thanks guys (and all others since) for your expertise and opinions. I'm still trying to find my niche here on AD... You all know about "Doc TY" and "Mr. Nero" (not too shabby on general PC issues, either ;-) ). I guess I'll relegate myself to more of a "Jack-of-all-trades," such as arniebear and rotary, and contribute where I can while I continue to learn all I can. Anyway, this is just a general "Thanks" to all you AD "Old Schoolers" who are here day after day setting the example for the newcomers... PEACE
thank you teflonmyk, for your kind words as well as your advice to me regarding my pioneer dvr-109 and booktyping, i still remember i keep myself in the media forum for the most part, trying to help as much as i can regarding media for those that are willing to learn. just wanted to say thanks for the compliment and let's continue to keep pressing on each day to help those that will appreciate it. Taiyo Yuden baby~!! LOL... DocTY is out for tonight, got a patient waiting for me in about 2 hours...have a good one all and thank you to all those that have helped ME too~ you know who you are ^^
cheers bud, thanks for the kind words. i'm always a'learning as i go. i do try to limit myself to nero, media & a few other forums, not enough hours in the day to wander too far afield. there's a non-stop influx of new people/threads and it gets confusing when you subscribe to a gazillion threads but it's great for the grey cells. my job tends to not keep my mind active enough apart from big projects/big disasters and i get too vague, so i've found posting on here incessantly has made me as sharp as i used to be. just gotta keep it up
i forgot to add (i do fairly often mention it as it's my way of hoping it does happen! as i do really want to get out of I.T., well i'm more interested in working with family than getting out of I.T. but hey) that i want to change career soon, a bonus would be that i can do more 'me' things, like get back into PC's and spend far more time online, at places such as afterdawn, cdfreaks etc etc
@teflonmyk I echo the others in saying thanks for those kind words, they give my day a big bump. I remember when I first started at the forum I lurked for like a month before I even made a post. But the more you read the more you learn. I used to think that burning a movie meant sticking it in the drive and using Xcopy, did I learn different. Everybody on this forum has their own knowledge to add and it makes it fun experience, and when you finally get resolution to a problem that is the best feeling of all. @creaky Thank gawd for your patience with those Nero logs, most of the time they drive me nuts, especially NeroVisiionExpress. So keep on rolling with those logs, I am sure Nero appreciates it. @kivory666 You are the last word on media, if it comes from you DocTy it has got to be correct.
